Tips for loving this Valentine’s Day regardless of your relationship status!
- First, remember that it is a holiday created by a greeting card company! Take away the stress of “shoulds” because it is Valentine’s Day! Instead go to your heart and sizzle in the LOVE – love for self, for others, and for the world.
- Forget about hoping for a date just so you are not alone. Show yourself some love! IDEAS: Soak in a hot bubbly bath with lots of candles and great music playing. Cook yourself a scrumptious meal and enjoy every single bite. Invite your friends over and have a party and CELEBRATE BEING SINGLE. Take turns expressing all the wonderful things about each of you and how you enjoy your life NOW, (not when…..)
- Write a long love letter to the perfect mate that you will be with in the future. Describe in delicious detail how you will live, what you will do, how you feel. While you write this BE in the moment AS IF it is happening NOW. By engaging your senses and emotions in a positive way you activate the energy that will draw them to you. Let your soul mate know you are ready and waiting.
- If you have children, celebrate the day with them. Describe what you love about them. Bake cookies. Make a heart shaped cake. Play games. Dance. Laugh. Life is so hectic and rarely do we have time to just enjoy our children, so make this a day about love, BE about love.
- Reach out to others. Think of all the people in a nursing home who would love to have a valentine. If you have parents who are alone, share some love with them. Valentine’s Day does not have to be just about romance – it is all about love. Love can be expressed in so many ways. Use your imagination!
This holds true whether you are single or involved. Couples can engage in the same suggestions together.
Couples:
- Seize this opportunity to do something different and special with and for each other. Stay home and cook together. Soak in hot soapy tub, and wash each other slowly and sensuously.
- Whether you go out to dinner or stay home, engage in lively conversation with each other. Listen attentively to what your great date is saying. Gaze into each their eyes. Recount the story of how you met. Remember why you fell in love!
- Take turns complimenting each other and sharing what you admire, respect, and enjoy about each other. Express gratitude for the splendidness of your partner. Play your favorite love songs and dance together. Hold your lover close. Kiss slowly and deeply. Fall in love all over again!
So, folks there are plenty of reasons and ways to love Valentine’s Day – go forth and enjoy!
